RDFZ XISHAN SCHOOL

RDFZ XISHAN School is a public school funded by the Education Commission of Haidian District in Beijing, China. Established in 2009, it is a satellite school of the High School Affiliated to Renmin University (referred to as Renda Fuzhong or RDFZ in short). Our school is one of three international programs under the RDFZ brand.

RDFZ XISHAN School's vision is to be a Blissful, Different Future School and strives to develop learners with 21st century skills. Our high school offers the Chinese-American Joint Program (Advance Placement Program).

RDFZ XISHAN SCHOOL was the first public school in China to be certified as an Apple Distinguished Program School for consecutively two years in a row. Through establishing and carrying out flagship projects and collaborative learning with global Sister Schools, we provide our students with a cross-cultural learning platform that transcends geographical borders. Some of theses flagship projects are:

  • Challenge Based Learning, CBL

  • Youth Entrepreneurship Program, YEP

  • Student Leadership Program, SLP

  • The Blissful Project

  • Classic Recital

  • Experiential Learning

We cultivate global citizens with critical thinking, collaborative and communication skills as well as creativity. To develop our students' humanistic qualities and respect for their own roots and heritage, the school offers traditional cultural courses, including:

  • Guqin

  • Chinese Go

  • Chinese Calligraphy

  • Martial Arts

  • Classical Reading

  • Tea Appreciation

  • Classical art troupe “Yayun Huazhang” for performance tours.

RDFZ XISHAN has established strong international connections with schools in the U.S., European, and Singapore, including our program partner institution Tabor Academy. Part of this collaboration with Tabor Academy, an established private school based in the US, is to further develop our school curriculum for students aged 15 to 18.

All students applying for the RDFZ XISHAN SCHOOL must meet minimum requirements for entry. Student selection is based on a minimum Zhongkao score and requirements to pass school-based entrance examinations (Mathematics and English). A third part of the selection process is a two-step interview, one in English, and one in Chinese. Student selection is based on overall performance in this holistic process.

RDFZ XISHAN SCHOOL has over 50 extracurricular activities and clubs, more than 14 elective courses and currently offers many other opportunities for development to 250 AP students.

Along with the high school section, RDFZ XISHAN SCHOOL offers a middle school program to 621 middle school students.

The high school AP program mainly occupies the 4th and 5th levels of our teaching and learning building. There is WIFI access available throughout the whole campus. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, screens and multimedia devices.
